Rare ewer and its porcelain basin from the revolutionary period with a Salembier-style decoration of large foliage and fruit baskets, polychrome flower vase enhanced with beautiful gilding, butterfly decoration around the perimeter of the basin. Frame at the base of the ewer and the handle in gilded bronze. Marks partly erased, but we can still read under the pelvis: on the third line: "1793 3rd Republican year" and on the second line: "Popular action ... in Paris" What could be an allusion to the events of September 4 and 5 a movement of union between the people, the commune of Paris and the convention for a revolutionary executive. Eighteenth century - Dated 1793. Revolutionary period.

A crack in the pelvis and the neck of the lapped ewer. (see photos) Sold as is.
