Lille - Pair of vases with grisaille decoration - Eighteenth century - SOLD
Pair of hard porcelain vases from Lille, neoclassical in shape resting on square bases, decorated with two panels painted in grisaille taken from Ovid's metamorphoses "Daphne and Apollo" and "Coronis Pursued by Neptune and Metamorphosed into a Crow by Minerva" decorated on the reverse with gilded trophies, the handles in the shape of heads of lions also enhanced with gilding. Laurel leaf motifs at the base and leaf garlands on the collar - Eighteenth century - Two similar vases in the Chartreuse museum in Douai.
